LG unveils Optimus G Pro with 5.5-inch curved glass screen for Korea

Last month, LG officially took the wraps off its Optimus G Pro, its take on the ever-popular 5-inch, 1080p Android smartphone and an update to last year's strong Optimus G flagship device. While the Optimus G Pro we saw last month was destined for Japan, LG just announced a model for the Korean market that ups the screen size to a whopping 5.5 inches — all the better to compete with Samsung's Galaxy Note II. While LG didn't say whether any specs beyond the screen size have changed, the company did call out the Optimus G Pro's curved glass face — a standout design feature of the company's Nexus 4 device. The Korean version of the device also appears to have the Nexus 4's reflective, holographic back plate, though from the front it definitely looks more like one of Samsung's newer Galaxy devices. While we're not sure if LG will promote this device beyond its home borders, we'll be keeping an eye out at Mobile World Congress to see it for ourselves.
